Snipset ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. The Snipset Desktop Application

1.1 No Telemetry

Snipset does not collect any usage data, analytics, crash reports, or telemetry from the desktop application. There are no tracking pixels, no analytics SDKs, and no phone-home behavior.

1.2 Local Data Storage

All application data — including your snippets, groups, settings, clipboard history, AI conversation logs, and vector embeddings — is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device. This data is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted to any server.

1.3 Keyboard Hook

Snipset uses a global keyboard hook (Win32 WH_KEYBOARD_LL) to monitor keystrokes and detect snippet trigger keywords. This hook operates 100% locally. Keystrokes are matched against your snippet library in memory and discarded immediately after processing. No keystrokes are logged, stored, or transmitted.

1.4 AI Features

Snipset's AI features (text generation, semantic search embeddings) are powered by Ollama, which runs as a local daemon on your machine (typically at localhost:11434). AI prompts, responses, and embedding vectors never leave your device. We do not operate any cloud AI services.

1.5 Auto-Updater

Snipset's built-in auto-updater checks for new versions by contacting our update server (snipset.belajarcarabelajar.com/api/updater). This request transmits only the current app version and platform identifier. No personal data is included. You may disable auto-updates in Settings.

2. This Website

2.1 Analytics

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that:

  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not track individual users
  • Does not collect personal information
  • Is fully GDPR compliant

2.2 Contact Form

If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content solely to respond to your inquiry. This data is not shared with third parties, not used for marketing, and is deleted after the inquiry is resolved.

2.3 Cookies

This website does not use cookies. The theme preference (dark/light mode) is stored in your browser's localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

Snipset does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service the desktop app communicates with is your local Ollama installation (which you install and control).

4. Children's Privacy

Snipset is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
